The Family Connection Receives Grant and Hires Program Manager

CENTRAL POINT, OR –   The Family Connection is a new Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative (OPEC) hub in Jackson and Josephine Counties. The program recently received a grant from The Oregon Community Foundation for the 2015-2016 fiscal year. We would like to thank our community partners who helped make this possible- Southern Oregon Head Start, Options, Grants Pass School District, All Care, The Family Nurturing Center, Southern Oregon Early Learning Services, The Child Care Resource Network, Jackson County Housing Authority, and Southern Oregon ESD, along with other community partners too numerous to mention.

The Family Connection will be working within the communities of Jackson and Josephine Counties to provide high quality parenting classes for parents– their child’s first and forever teachers.

Renee Degn, a Southern Oregon native and graduate of Southern Oregon University, has been hired as the program manager. She is thrilled to lead this exciting new program! Contact her at

The Family Connection plans to support families of all kinds, and establish high quality parenting education as a norm for every parent. For more information and to see a calendar of upcoming classes and events that you and your family can benefit from, please visit our website at:
