What To Do When Your Child Gets Sick – Central Point

Southern Oregon Head Start is proud to present Health Smarts, a health literacy training for caregivers. This is a free event for the community.  The only qualification is that you care for children in some capacity children. Child care, prizes, and lunch provided, all for free.  Everyone attending will be trained how to use the books “What To Do For Healthy Teeth” & “What To Do When Your Child Gets Sick”, and they’ll get their own copies to take home.

The goal of this training is to increase health literacy, and empower caregivers to care for common childhood illnesses, injuries, and maintain good oral health. The result for the trainees is time & money saved from not seeking unnecessary medical attention including Emergency Room visits. Also, knowing when to go to your medical provider when it is needed, to have healthier kids that are in school more and able to learn and grow.
