This video and discussion program provides parents with the skills needed to use effective discipline, teach responsibility, and communicate with their children. Each session shows parents how to handle sensitive issues such as drugs, sexuality, and violence.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teens &amp; technology (the Internet, social networking sites, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>The latest in teen drug use prevention (including prescription drugs)<\/li>\n<li>Teen bullying: how to spot it, how to handle it<\/li>\n<li>Special stepfamily considerations<\/li>\n<li>How brain development affects teen behavior and decision-making<\/li>\n<li>Improved discipline and communication<\/li>\n<li>Resources for teen sexuality issues and teen dating violence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parenting is a learned skill, come learn with us! All types of parents are welcome to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Session 1: The Active Parent<br \/>\nSession 2: Winning Cooperation with Communication<br \/>\nSession 3: Active Communication<br \/>\nSession 4: Responsibility &amp; Discipline Part 1<br \/>\nSession 5: Responsibility &amp; Discipline Part 2<br \/>\nSession 6: Building Courage &amp; Redirecting Misbehavior<br \/>\nSession 7: Reducing the Risks: Drugs &amp; Sexuality<br \/>\nSession 8: Review, Exit Surveys and Celebration!<\/p>\n<p>These are real-time virtual zoom sessions taught by a certified parenting educator. A welcome email with zoom information will go out a week before classes start. Please download Zoom and set reminders to attend! A laptop\/<span class=\"mark2px2st7ty\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">tablet<\/span> will be a better experience to interact, see the presentation and videos, etc. rather than a mobile phone.
